Digital Video Recorders

DVR Products

The cornerstone of any video surveillance system is the Digital Video Recorder (DVR).  All DigiTek Security DVRs perform the same basic functions:

- The DVR displays the live camera feeds on a TV or monitor.

- When the DVR detects motion, the video is saved on hard drives inside the DVR.

- When the DVR's hard drives are filled, the DVR begins to automatically overwrite the oldest files first.

- Live or recorded video can be viewed or reviewed either standing in front of the DVR's screen, or over the internet.

- Recorded video can be placed on an external medium, such as a CD, DVD, or USB drive.

We offer two types of DVRs, PC-based or Stand-Alones.

Dome Cameras

When a camera must be tamperproof, a dome camera is the way to go.

A dome camera is a small camera placed inside of a plastic, metal and/or weatherproof housing.  Usually the covering on the camera is “dome” shaped, giving us the name.

Infrared emitters can be added to provide better video in poor lighting conditions.

Dome cameras can be ceiling-mounted, wall-mounted or even mounted on various brackets, making them the most versatile CCTV camera.

In 2008, we introduced our “Night Vision” dome, which provides color video in almost pitch-black conditions.

Infrared Bullet Cameras

These cameras can be used indoor; outdoor; in well-lit areas; or under poor lighting.  Since they are normally on a bracket, it is recommended they be mounted high, providing an “overview” of the scene in view.

In well-lit situations, the picture is in color.  When lighting becomes poor, the camera switches on infrared emitters which allow the camera to produce black and white video.

Infrared Bullet cameras come in varying sizes, with varying number of infrared emitters.  The more emitters, the further the camera can “see”.

Box Cameras

The most traditional and recognizable CCTV camera is the box camera.  We use box cameras in two situations:

1 – When you want everyone to know you have cameras
          (like at banks).

2 – When the best possible quality is mandatory.

A wide variety of lenses can be used, producing both wide-angle views and tight (zoomed-in) shots.

Box cameras can be put into a heated housing for use outside as well as inside.
